Battleground or Couch?

We are somewhat suprised by the recent activity on our message board. When we implemented the board, it was mostly an experiment to examine the workings of Jokers Updates board, and we were not really expecting anything really "juicy" to happen. That has changed since our last issue as several distinct differences in opinion are being debated hotly, and by some of the well-known names from the TVClubhouse and Elites TV.

The opening bout concerns the newly created board at http://www.tornadohills.com/bb2 and its moderation(?) practices. We see several names we recognize - Abeachbratt, BBVoyeur, and fillmeup, along with the creator of the site donnabert. This appears to be part of the continuing tiff after the breakoff of the site from TVCH.

The main event concerns the well-known animosity between TVCH and ETV. On the side of TVCH we see the tag team of Whit4you and Flint, with a rare appearance by the Admin there, Neil! On the side of TVCH, we have Digilady, Spamgirl, Mishi, and a lengthy performance by Elitist himself!

For comic relief, we have the perennial troll-clown Guruchaz/Tukuul/Xyth/Zeb (and almost every other name you don't recognize on the board) playing the sarcastic court jester and working on his own agenda.

A very entertaining time is being had by all. Our question after reading all the diatribes is this: is this really a war, or is it a cathartic release of pent up emotions?

Tornado Blues

We have watched with some amusement the posting at http://tornadohills.com/bb2/, especially after we were contacted by the owner, donnabert, about our recent articles.

Donnabert, on Tuesday wrote "Not one post has ever been moderated on the board. Also, you have to put a "moderator" name when you start a topic, that's how the software works, but I don't moderate anything anyone says.". This seems to be the main contention now on the board where a total of 91 posts have been made in the "We're famous I think..." thread concerning this topic, which ironically was started as a link to Reality Trash. This total combined with the other threads in the "Bitch About BBFC" forum make a final count of 163 posts that concern the mother site or moderation. Total of all other posts on the board at the time of this writing is 81.

As can be seen, this battle was also brought to our board. We went to see what was happening, and to our suprise we also got a blank screen when trying to access the board. After a quick e-mail to donnabert about the situation and a reply that "everything worked for them", we were able to access the board.

Our intentions were not totally above board however. We had received from a poster who claimed to be banned from the site their username and password and was asked to try to post to the board. When we did this, we received the following message:

You have been banned from this forum. Contact the system administrator if you have any questions.

To be honest, we were very suprised at this result. We were certain that donnabert was only being plagued by posters who had an axe to grind, or that were playing silly bashing games with the board, perhaps in retaliation for the board even being in existence. However this evidence says that at least one poster has been banned on a supposedly unmoderated board.

We asked Donnabert about this and was sent to the following article on the site: http://tornadohills.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=30&forum=9&0 (which, according to the timestamp, was posted in response to our request for information).

Seems someone has been doing a bit more than playing word games, and tried to hack the board. All users with the same address of the hacker were banned. Either our informant was a guilty party, or caught using the same anonymizer or open proxy of the perpetrator.

Chat Kingpins

We continue to be impressed with the ability of Elite TV to bring in the big name stars to their chatroom.

First they brought in their favorite house guest Kent, which many believed would be a one-night stand. But continued visits by Kent made him a fixture in their chat. Next thing you know, Sheryl starts showing up with her son Harrison and people began wondering what was going on. Then I Love Bunky co-hosted a chat with Bunky, Sheryl, and Kent, and then another Sheryl chat popped up, with Kent and George from BB1 appearing! Heck, we even heard WillMega was in one of the chats and asked a question.

All this was fine and good, but we figured it was really all connected to Kent. Then the biggest suprise of all - Nicole is brought into their chatroom by the Nicole Rocks! club for her first internet chat. Talk about a grand slam.

What's next up their sleeve? We hear rumors of Mike, Will, and Shannon showing up. And there are other rumors of a big charity chat that will include the mayor of New York City, Big Brother 1 and 2 houseguests, and members of both Survivor 1 and 2. What a madhouse that will be!

Corrections

In the last two issues, we have incorrectly identified the creator of http://tornadohills.com/bb2/ as BBVoyeur. The creator of this site was actually Donnabert. Our apologies to Donnabert and any confusion this may have caused.

In our last issue, we incorrectly identified Cygnus and his Survivor Addicts and Surviiivor Sucks sites with the Ellipsiiis Brain Trust. Cygnus and friends are adamantly opposed to the Brain Trust. Our apologies for making such a momentous mistake.

For the past two issues we have neglected to mention Elite TV's Mishi. We hope this issue rectifies our error.

Favorite Poster: Reality Trash's Whit4You

We can't help but thank Reality Trash's and TVClubhouse's Whit4you for the lively discussion occuring on our message board.

Whit, as her friends call her, is a long time poster at TVCH and was for a brief period of time a moderator on that site. A master of long rambling posts rivaled only by those made by Elitist, Whit has added a new spice to our experiment in sociology.

Thank you Whit4You for participating on our site and we hope you make it a constant habit.
